Abstract

  • Year by year the amount of bio-based material is rising. Caused by the lack of petrochemical resources in future years, it will be more and more important to research new alternatives for standard material. Two different bio-based polymer composites were produced in lab scale as a possible alternative for printed circuit boards (PCB). The materials are compared. The paper at hand presents results of present studies like characteristic properties, thermal process compatibility and the realization of lead structures on the substrates. The suitability of technical conceptions, the use for the electronics assembly, and possible applications are examined. Results are showcasing the technological usability. The material properties and further modifications of these substrates will be discussed.
