This workshop aims to bring together scientists working on the interface between model-based inference of biological principles and data-driven inductive methods based on machine learning, statistical analysis and artificial intelligence. We will explore recent advances and open problems in understanding tissue organization, both for healthy and degenerated tissues (tumors), by mathematical modeling, data-based model calibration as well as by large-scale data-analytical methods in the context of systems medicine.
