Abstract

  • Louse fly records on pigeons led to the first record of Pseudolynchia canariensis from Germany, detected on domestic pigeons, and provided evidence of Ornithomya avivularia on woodpigeons (Columbia palumbus), Eurasian collared doves (Streptopelia decaocto) and an ornamental pigeon. Literature sources also document records of Ornithomya avivularia on stock doves (Columba oenas) and of Ornithomya fringillina on Eurasian collared doves.
