Abstract

• During the past decade a large number of chaos-based encryption systems have been suggested and investigated. Cryptographical analysis of these systems shows that some of them are cryptographically weak. In this paper, some general design rules for chaos-based encryption systems are derived based on strengths and weaknesses of already suggested systems.
