Abstract

• Dieses Buch veranschaulicht in einer Kombination aus Texten, Bildern und historischen Karten die reformationsgeschichtlichen Vorgänge des 16. Jahrhunderts in Konzentration auf den von den Wettinern beherrschten mitteldeutschen Raum, dem Ausgangsgebiet der lutherischen Reformation. Die Visualisierung von historischen Abläufen und Entwicklungen durch neu erarbeitete Karten eröffnet einen originellen Zugang, der allein durch Texte oder Abbildungen verschlossen bliebe. Diese neue Sicht auf reformationsgeschichtliche Prozesse erlaubt auch eine Nutzung des Werks außerhalb der Wissenschaft, zum Beispiel in Kirchgemeinden, Museen, Tourismusbüros oder Schulen. Neben der Reformation des 16. Jahrhunderts selbst werden auch die Wirkungen der Reformation auf Kirche und Gesellschaft, auf Kultur, Politik und Wirtschaft in den Blick genommen. -- In a combination of texts, images and historical maps, this book illustrates the historical events of the Reformation in the 16th century, concentrating on the Central German area ruled by the Wettins, the starting area of the Lutheran Reformation. The visualization of historical processes and developments through newly developed maps opens up access that would remain closed solely by texts or illustrations. This new perspective on the historical processes of the Reformation also allows the work to be used outside of academia, for example in parishes, museums, tourist offices or schools. In addition to the Reformation of the 16th century itself, the effects of the Reformation on church and society, on culture, politics and the economy are also examined.
