The project proposal HERO combines the scientific excellences of Germany, Hungary, and Romania in plastic waste recycling and preparation of high-performance composites from recycled plastic waste. It promotes the transnational cooperation between Germany, Hungary, and Romania as well as the innovation process regarding energy- and cost-efficient recycling processes for mixed polyolefin waste and scrap tires. This will lead to a reduction of plastic waste and enhanced resource productivity in the EU, while also helping to establish a circular economy.
